State of Hawaii Requirements for Marriage

Obtaining a marriage license in Hawaii is a very simple procedure. There are no blood tests required and obtaining the license and the wedding ceremony can all be done the same day. We can even assist you on weekends. The only thing that is required is some type of photo ID. A Hawaii marriage license is legal all over the world.

Please review the following:

There is no waiting period in the State of Hawaii.

There is no residence or citizenship requirements.

A certified Hawaiian marriage license is valid all over the world.

To marry, partners must be at least 16 years of age. Partners under 18 must have written consent from both parents, legal guardian, or Family Court.

Licenses are granted by the State Department of Health in Honolulu, 1250 Punchbowl Street.

The Marriage License Bureau is open 8:00 a. m. to 3:30 p. m. Monday - Friday, and closed on weekends and all Local and Federal Holidays.

The cost of the license is $60.00 CASH, and is payable directly to the Marriage License Bureau or Licensing Agent.

A Hawaiian Marriage License must be used within 30 days from the date of issue.
